Russia's inflation stood at 0.1 percent on January 26 - February 1 and the year-to-date inflation amounted to 1.7 percent, the Russian Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported Wednesday. Last year, January inflation equaled 1.7 percent and reached 2.5 percent since the beginning of the year.
Sugar demonstrated the highest increase, having climbed 1.6 percent, while frozen fish, milk, butter, cheese, and vodka rose 0.4-0.9 percent. At the same time, eggs, chicken, and wheat flour inched down 0.1-0.3 percent.
Fruit and vegetable prices inched up 1.2 percent on average, while car gasoline prices added 0.1 percent.
